Anthony's Intergalactic Marathon 2019

London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
I've run the London Marathon on behalf of Shooting Star Children's Hospice in the past - hell, you probably sponsored me last time too so thanks for clicking the link for a second time! - but for 2019 I wanted to do something different, to achieve a long-standing dream and ambition of mine. Specifically, to run the London Marathon on behalf of Shooting Star Children's Hospice dressed as a giant robot. Even more specifically, the giant robot from the video to one of the greatest songs ever produced, 'Intergalactic' by The Beastie Boys.
I'm actually less worried about the training and the race itself than I am about making the costume. So by making a donation you'll be encouraging me to reach for that cardboard, those scissors, that tin of silver paint and build the best damned giant robot suit the London Marathon has ever seen.
In all seriousness, this is all just a means to raise money for a wonderful charity, Shooting Star Children's Hospice. SSCH are a leading children’s hospice charity caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Having visited both their Guildford and Hampton Court hospices, I have seen first-hand the great and essential work they do under often heart-breaking conditions.
I appreciate that this is ‘peak-sponsorship-requests’ time of the year but, should you find yourself with a few pounds left over at pay day, please do click the ‘Donate Now’ button to the right and help to make a huge difference to families that really need a little hope. Please remember to add Gift Aid to make sure that your donation goes a little further.
Best
Anthony
