London Landmarks Half Marathon 2022 · 3 April 2022 ·
I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April to help raise money for WaterAid.
As many of my friends and family who caught the exercise bug long before me will tell you, I am better known at these sorts of events as the person cheering on from the sidelines with a cigarette in hand. Or finishing the Champagne mid-race - despite supposedly buying it for the actual runner to enjoy when they crossed the finish line.
All I am trying to say, is that those who know me well will understand this is very much not my thing. Which I hope will give everyone a good laugh and encourage you to dig deep and help me raise as much money for WaterAid as possible. Clean water and good sanitation is a basic human right, and raising money for this brilliant cause is the motivation I need to drag myself around the 13 mile course in April.
Thank you so much for your help! x
About WaterAid:
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone's daily life. Without all three, people cant live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Women and men get to earn a living. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.This winter, help bring clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene to schools and communities throughout Nepal. WaterAid will work with local partners to construct clean water, decent toilets and hygiene facilities in schools, so that generations of girls get the chance to learn.Everything you raise before the 15 February 2022 will be matched by the UK government, up to £2 million, making double the impact.
