Thank you  - all of you who clicked on my JustGiving page or sent me cheques and cash over the past month.

As you will see you have helped me to raise £1,505.00  A spectacular amount.  The run in Battersea Park raised overall for Safe Ground 13k which will be used to help the charity develop a new programme of work.  In these austere times research and development is very difficult to sustain and it's essential that Safe Ground resources can be ring fenced for this. The funds will ensure Safe Ground's can respond to the needs of its beneficaries and produce work that is relevent and useful to them. 

Finally, I would like to thank you for taking the time to think about the work of Safe Ground and to give the charity your donation -  hard earnt and carefully saved funds which I know could have been directed else where.  I and the rest of the Safe Ground team are most, most grateful.

Many of you know that I started Safe Ground.  Why ? Because I was fortunate to have a supportive family able to help me make sense of school and all the challenges that growing up entails. However, the prisoners I worked with at Feltham Young Offenders back in 1993-5  hadn't had such a good start in life.  Here I worked with young men whose lives had been blighted by poor education and parenting. 19 years on Safe Ground continues to introduce people affected by a prison sentence to different ways of thinking and behaving. Helping them to make different choices that can steer them away from returning to prison and develop skills that can help them to contribute to society in a constructive way.  This isn't easy work and takes time and a lot of perseverance.  So I do hope you will support me in my run for Safe Ground, this Saturday 9th March, a fabulous unsung hero of a charity.
