Melbourne Cup Sweepstake

Matthew McAlpine is raising money for Change Please

Melbourne Cup Sweepstake · 2 November 2021

The Change Please Foundation was set up to help people experiencing homeless through an employment. We train people to become baristas, and support them with everything they need to turn their lives around - a living wage job, therapy, housing, life admin, and employment opportunities.

Story

It's that time of year again!

The GBC team will be running the Melbourne Cup Sweepstake for a bit of fun and to raise money toward a fantastic charity. The charity we have chosen to support this year is Change Please (link below). Change Please helps to provide support for the homeless. You may have seen their truck outside the office or even frequent there for coffee! What you may not of known is their theory behind every cup of coffee brewed – that is to help change someone’s life for the better; whether this is giving the experience of a living wage, housing, training, onwards opportunities and a fresh shot at a life. Hopefully we can all help and DRINK to that!

If you wish to get involved then here’s all the information you need:

  • Tickets are just £5 each and you can enter as many times as you fancy – the more, the merrier, it’s for a good cause! Please make your donations here and be sure to leave your name so we know who purchased the tickets.
  • There are 24 horses in the field and we will run as many sweeps as tickets sold, meaning multiple chances to win.
  • We’ll draw and assign your horse on Monday 1st of November after the horses have been announced.
  • After the race, on Tuesday 2nd November, those with the winning horse will receive a bottle of Champagne.
Our goal is to raise £2k to fund to continue their amazing work!
