Clontarf Half Marathon · 26 November 2022
I will be running the Clontarf Half Marathon on 26 November for a cause very close to my heart; for the strongest woman I know 🤍
In 2004, my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was a very scary time for our family but thankfully she caught it early, had a mastectomy, and we are extremely grateful to still have her with us today, 18 years on.🤍
At the end of July this year, following a routine 3 yearly mammogram, Mummy was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. A completely separate tumour on the other breast. She is still in the process of going through treatment and we are praying she will make a full and speedy recovery very soon. 🤍
1 in 10 women in Northern Ireland will get breast cancer in their lifetime. Knitted Knockers of Northern Ireland provide free handknitted Breast Prosthetics to Breast Cancer Survivors across NI. Although mummy has never had to avail of their services, they provide a wonderful support network for women who struggle. All donations I raise via this platform will go directly to this charity to help them to continue to do their amazing work. 🤍
Thank you for taking the time to read this. If you can, any donation however small would be greatly appreciated. 🤍
Now to get training… 🏃♀️
