Bordeaux to Barcelona · 13 September 2019

The Children's Centre, is a local Isle of Man independent charity, who help & support children, young people & families in times of crisis or vulnerability, where provision to meet their needs may not be available elsewhere on island.

Story

  • A prologue
  • Cycling 514 miles over 9 consecutive “stages”
  • Climbing 47,175 feet over 8 of the world’s top road cycling climbs
  • Starting in one country, finishing in another
  • Cycling through whatever elements are thrown at the participants.

Sounds like a Grand Tour?  Well… it certainly is for three intrepid office workers / part time cyclists.

Matt Hills, David Hogg and Nick Watterson will be representing Aon  Isle of Man in the epic cycling challenge that is Bordeaux to Barcelona.  The ride, in aid of the Isle of Man’s Children’s Centre, starts in Bordeaux in mid-September and winds its way down to Barcelona  via some very hilly Pyrenean mountains.  So hilly in fact that it’s the  equivalent of pedalling up Everest almost TWICE whilst covering the  distance from Glasgow down to Brighton.

Our target: raising over £3,000 for an amazing Isle of Man based  charity that sets its goal on improving the lives of children and  families who need support.

Please sponsor us to motivate us up eight terrifying looking cycle  climbs.

Please note that all costs of the trip are being paid for by Matt, David  and Nick, therefore every penny raised goes to the Children’s Centre.

Thank you
