Nuts Challenge · 31 August 2014

We support the pupils of Linden Lodge School and the Sensory Support Services. This exceptional special school educates pupils who are visually impaired, including those who are multi-disabled visually impaired, deaf-blind and have more profound learning difficulties and complex health needs.

Story

The ‘Nuts Challenge’ is a 7 km military style assault course and mud run over permanent obstacles, including: Hell River, Escape from Arnhem, Tunnel Rats, The Bomb Crater and Kamikaze - a significant challenge and a massive amount of fun for all fitness levels.

Competitors generally take an average of 1 to 1 ½ hours to complete the 100+ obstacle course.

Through doing the competitors hopes to raise an amazing £3k to put towards Team Apogee’s total sponsorship for Linden Lodge Charitable Trust.

The Linden Lodge Charitable Trust organises a number of events each year, which together with donations from Benefactors are used to buy equipment and pay for activities which would otherwise be outside the budget available from Wandsworth Borough Council. These additional resources and activities provide a stimulus which increases the quality of life, the enjoyment and depth of education that the school can offer its pupils who have very complex needs and enables them to experience challenges which would otherwise not be available to our Multi Disabled, Visually Impaired children.
