Story

Thank you for supporting this fundraising page for this year Pedal for Appledore RNLI Challenge.

Appledore RNLI are fielding their own crew team to join the ‘Pedal for Appledore RNLI’

Appledore Lifeboat crew have put together their own crew team to join in the ‘Pedal for Appledore RNLI’ Sponsored Cycling Challenge, the latest fundraising scheme set up by the Appledore RNLI Guild.

‘Pedal for Appledore RNLI’ provides a COVID friendly method of fundraising for the RNLI whose funds have been severely hit over the last year. The work of the RNLI and its volunteers has continued 24/7 throughout the pandemic, yet many of the normal, ever popular methods of raising funds to pay for this charitable work, have not been possible.

In addition to most of them working full time, family life, lifeboat training and shouts, the volunteer crew of Appledore RNLI have put a team together to raise money to go towards the operating costs of running their own boats and station.  They aim to ride between 500 – 1000 miles in the ‘Pedal for Appledore RNLI’ cycling challenge which will take place between 2 to 30 April 2021.
