In memory of Ernie Smith

APPLE, which was set up in 2000, is founded on three concepts Information, Education and Support. We are committed to raising public awareness about prostate cancer, thus encouraging men to seek advice early as the condition is responsive to treatment if detected soon enough.

Story

In October 2002, Ernie Smith (our Dad) lost his life to Cancer. Since then, we've been working with APPLE to raise awareness about Prostate Cancer.

On 20th October 2012, we will be holding a mini-triathlon in memory of Dad. We shall start in Stratford and cycle 8 miles (approx) to Becontree Heath. We shall then participate in a 57 minute sponsored swim (1 minute for every year of Dad's life) at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre. The final leg will be a 4 miles (approx) run from Becontree Heath to Rainham.

This is a challenge that our sport loving Dad would have loved (and one which he would have loved watching us attempt!) Please help us make it a fundraising success by sponsoring us today!

APPLE is committed to raising public awareness about Prostate Cancer, thus encouraging men to seek advice early as the condition is responsive to treatment if detected soon enough. Our fundraising efforts enables us to host monthly support group meetings, fund public information events and to provide training and registration for our support group volunteers.
