Cat gets the chop

Cat Appleton is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Hair donation · 1 November 2022

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

My curated family has experienced the impact of childhood cancer and it's thanks to the NHS and all the knowledge and research that has been able to support Archer on his treatment journey for the last 10 months since diagnosis. I said back in the lockdowns of 2020 I'd donate my hair  I didn't expect in that time for it to take on such a personal focus  I've gone for a target of £300 because that's the cheapest you can buy a human hair wig. I'm hoping my hair and your donations can make a difference.

Before deciding to donate my hair to Little Princess Trust I didn't realise all the work that they do.

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, The Little Princess Trust is there to offer a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity to anyone up to the age of 24. The charity also funds childhood cancer research seeking to find kinder and more effective treatments. Please visit www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help LPT give young people back what cancer takes away. The Little Princess Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding.
