This is my first time fundraising and the last time I tried to rollerskate was well over 10 years ago and I was seriously rubbish, I couldn't even really stand up in them without falling over. Now I'm going to set myself a challenge, get those skates back on and see how many laps I can complete at Rollercity!

I have been volunteering with Southend YMCA since April 2013 and have been privilidged to volunteer for and see how much time, effort and work that goes into each project that Southend YMCA runs and how much constant enthusiasm and effort the staff put into these projects. I have been inspired by all the hard work everyone puts into Southend YMCA

I have been able to do extra qualifications through projects like Team YP and Leigh Folk Festival as well as first aid and and fire marshal courses. They have helped me develop my skills in areas like microsoft programmes, tips to improve my CV, consistently supported me through my job searching and in life in general.

Which is why I would like to raise as much money as possible to help them continue their amazing work and support them like they have supported me through my time volunteering and the opportunities and experienced I have gained because of Southend YMCA.

Southend YMCA enables vulnerable young people to rebuild their confidence, increase their employability and restore their self esteem. They provide supported housing, education and use music, art, sport and catering projects to effectively help over 1,000 young people a year in the Southeast of Essex.
