Seventeen years ago we sadly lost my wonderful mum to cancer.  In remembrance of her this year I have entered myself into a challenging swim to raise money for two charities that helped people like my mum and my family: Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie.  I'm annually increasing the distance of these swims and this year is 5km. I did swim this distance a fews years back in the pool version of the Swimathon but I do have to say that I am royally crapping myself for this one.  The thing that scares me the most would be the fact that there is no pool side to rest at and have a drink and even a snack.  Fingers crossed there are fuelling stations along the way! 

Come down to watch if you are free or join at the Scolt in the afternoon because I'll certainly be having a drink or two... or ten.
