Story
Me Aqeeb Khan, What difference could i make i thought, i mean how many poor and vulnerable are there in the world today. These were the thoughts that were going through my head, when i was approached by a few good hearted brothers. Together we decided to organise an event that entailed riding a bike for approximately 70 miles. Honestly, I felt goosebumps about the whole idea.
1 of the brothers had told me how he had come across a lady from Syria, they were a family of refugees and that she voiced how they were not able to keep their fasts this year as they didn’t have anything to eat for Sahoor or iftari, that every day was a fast for them.
Hearing this just made my heart sink and that’s when I realised the real purpose of life. That we are blessed Alhamdulillah (All praise to God) to be in a position to help the less fortunate.
Instantly I felt I needed to help and any small difference i could make by participating would benefit massively to those that are in desperate need.
The more I spoke to this brother about this family of refugees the more sense of responsibility it gave me to help the poor and made me realise how lucky I was. I just wished I was able to take the burden away for them, to make them feel that they are safe and secure.
I jumped straight in to the deep end and decided i was going to ride 70 miles for charity, and raise as much money as possible to donate to the less fortunate.
I know it is going to be a challenging task but I am very confident that i will fulfil my task and i intend on reaching the destination before anyone else.
May Allah ta'aalaa make it easy for all the riders that are participating, May he reward abundantly the people that are donating and fulfil all their pure desires for this world and the here after!
Even £1 will make a difference guys. The Prophet SAW said: “save yourself from hellfire by donating even half a date-fruit in charity” (Sahih Bukhari Book 24 - Hadith 98) & Those who spend in charity will be richly rewarded (Quran 75:10)
Please help and support this cause by donating generously, please share with others so they can benefit and earn the reward.
May Allah Azwajjal reward you immensely for supporting and donating to this beautiful cause. Ameen!!!
Just Care (Charity Registration No. 1182326) was set up in 2017 after the founders of the charity saw there was a need for both support and assistance within the local comunity. The charity works with the elderly, homeless, ill, those who have fallen upon hard times and animals. The Covid-19 pandemic has meant that more people than ever require Just Care’s assistance. Just Care need YOUR help to reach them.
The Big Brum/Bradford Bike Ride will take place on 30 June 2020. Two teams consisting of 15 riders will compete to reach the finish line which is halfway between the two cities.
