Russell's Atlantic Rowing Challenge

Russell English is raising money for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire Charity

Atlantic Rowing Challenge · 21 December 2020

The funds you raise help make things better for our staff, our patients and their families. Thanks to your generous support, UHCW Charity funds world-leading equipment, trains NHS staff in ground breaking techniques and improves surroundings.

Story

University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) Charity makes things better for NHS staff, patients and their families.

Even before the pandemic we all know what a fantastic job the NHS does.

The charity supports the well-being of NHS staff by providing mental health training sessions.

They also fund equipment and improve the environment for patients.

They also support families, funding a bereavement garden for those who have suffered the loss of a child and family communication rooms, so that families can discuss their loved ones' care in privacy and peace.

£10 buys a toy for a child to play with whilst they're in hospital.

£100 funds arts and crafts activities for older patients to enjoy.

£500 funds a heat pad for cancer patient's to manage their pain.

Also as part of this years challenge I will be continuing with my press up challenge as well as reluctantly giving up: chocolate, sweets and alcohol for twelve months and donating the money saved to the UHCW Charity (roughly £10-20 a week).

Thank you all for your continued support.
