Story
Anthea's aunt Angela was diagnosed with cancer just as the Covid-19 pandemic lock-down started and Anthea decided to do something fun to raise her aunt's spirits. Friends and family gathered online to perform the script without any prior rehearsal.
A neighbour friend wrote to the BBC about it resulting in Paddy O'Connell featuring the episode in the BBC 'Broadcasting House' #bbcbh radio show on Sunday 17th May (at 10minutes before the end). This was chosen as one of the highlights of Radio4 the following Sunday in BBC Radio4 'Pick of the Week'.
[UPDATE: In addition to the total shown on this page £215 was donated to the same charity via a Facebook Fundraiser, now closed.]

Angela has written plays for hospital radio for the past 25 years and is just completing the last recorded stories of 'Not Going Quietly' (The Secret Recorded Diary of Mabel Fawcett Dodds www.notgoingquietly.co.uk). Angela is a Quaker (a member of the Religious Society of Friends).
Anthea is a former theatre director, now teacher of Drama and English who loves to write in her spare time.
Angela chose to support The British Red Cross because it plays a vital role in emergency response, and the ongoing, ever-changing situation concerning the COVID-19 pandemic is no exception. In times of crisis, they help people. They’re local and they’re global and they’ve been doing this for 150 years.
