Archery For Heroes

I'm going to do 18 archery shoots at 17 different clubs around England. To put that in perspective I usually shoot twice a week so I’m cramming over 2 months of shooting into 3 weeks. A kind of Archery marathon. I've given myself the odd day off to try and stop my shoulders coming off before the end. And I will need to do some laundry at some point.
Starting and finishing at my own club www.bowmenoflyme.co.uk. I’ll be as far South as Portsmouth and Dover, and as far North as Kirknewton just 6 miles from the Scottish border.
A good friend of mine Edward has told me stories about his Father who lost his legs due to injury in WW2. About the struggles they had to go through and mountains of forms to fill in to get what his Father needed to get on with his life. He opened my eyes to the fact that while the media concentrate on the numbers killed in conflicts, the sad fact is that the number wounded is always much, much higher. Recent heroic performances in the summer and winter Paralympics have shown what can be achieved with enough determination and help. That's why I chose Help for Heroes as my charity.
So please give what you can and feel free to follow my progress. I'll be posting regular updates on Twitter, look for #ArcheryForHeroes tweeted by @Strangebloke1. Also on Facebook. Do a search on my name and look for the picture above in the profile.
Please note I am not taking any expenses out of donations. I will be paying my own travel and accommodation costs. Except for the usual JustGiving fees your donations will go to HfH. Don't forget to tick GiftAid if you’re a taxpayer.
