Archie’s Hair Cut · 5 May 2019

We conduct world class medical research projects. We diagnose and treat thousands of people with epilepsy every year. We do this and much more. We are the UK’s national medical epilepsy charity. With Epilepsy Society, you don’t have to deal with epilepsy alone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Archie will be having his ginger locks cut off to raise money for Epilepsy Society, and will be donating his hair to the Little Princess Trust to make wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatments.

Archie has been so motivated to grow his hair over the past four years; even being mistaken as a girl at times has not put him off and he has done us proud in growing his hair so long for these special charities!!!!

Epilepsy has personally touched Archie’s life as a young boy.  On 25 May 2012, Archie suddenly developed generalised epilepsy syndrome.  He suffered very severe generalised seizures, requiring resuscitation and hospitalisation each time.  It was such a shock to us, as a family, and we struggled to come to terms with what the future may hold for his diagnosis.

Before Archie’s diagnosis, epilepsy was just a word.  But for several years it became our lives. However, as a family, we tried to take his condition in our stride and support Archie to live life to the full; not a life that was governed by epilepsy.

Archie is a fun, happy and sensitive young lad who enjoys his rugby, martial arts, and fun times with family and friends.  He has never let the fact that he had epilepsy run his life, and he has now, thankfully, grown out of the condition.

Other children, young people and adults are not so lucky, and Epilepsy Society support many individuals and families come to terms with the diagnosis and manage their lives to the full.

Please do give what you can; every little helps to support Epilepsy Society to continue their research to strive to find the causes of epilepsy and to improve treatment for the condition.

Thank you!!!
