Story

2020 marked the 50th Anniversary of Arcus Consulting LLP, from its original roots as “Christopher Hogben Associates” based in Chorlton in 1970. To celebrate this milestone for Arcus, we had originally planned to complete the 50 kilometre walk between our first two offices in Liverpool and Manchester, whilst raising money for charity. Unfortunately our plans were curtailed by the on-set of the COVID pandemic that year.

With restrictions now lifted, on the 18th June 2022, a team of 10 from our Manchester office will be setting out to undertake this challenging 50 kilometre walk between the two offices to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. We are all training hard to ensure we can complete this difficult challenge and are grateful to the staff who are unable to take part but will be supporting the team on the day.

The COVID pandemic, whilst cancelling our original proposed walk, has made the completion of this event even more important. Many found the isolation caused by lockdown led to greater issues in respect of mental health and this study by the Alzheimer’s Society found that lockdown caused rapid levels of decline in people with dementia.

We're grateful for any donations to support the vital work being carried out by the Alzheimer's Society.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
