Story

Child Bereavement UK is a charity that focuses on something that is close to my heart. As some of you may know, I lost my brother 8 years ago due to him being stillborn and gaining his angel wings. At the time I was only 17 years old and my whole world was shattered by this tragic event. While going through the loss of this, I was in a state of denial and disbelief and hurt and guilt and all these emotions was very tough to handle. Through the support of my family, friends and counselling, I was able to 'come to terms' with what had happened and how to 'deal with the pain' though the pain never goes away. As I think back to this time, I think about not only how I felt, but how must my sisters have felt, being so young and not fully understanding what had happened, as well as my parents who had just lost their child and were so broken. I wish I had found this charity back then as its aim and ambition is to help those who are suffering from such trauma and help young children who don't know where to go and how to feel. This charity is everything I stand by and I am honoured to be able to raise some funds to support such a worthy cause.
