Story

Wreck This Art Collective is fundraising for a fantastic, hardworking and vitally important charity known as Grassroots Suicide Prevention. A cause that is very close to our hearts, we will be setting up an arts competition across Brighton, Shoreham, Worthing and the surrounding areas with some fabulous prizes available, donated from some wonderful local businesses and artists. The competition entry fee will be being donated directly to the charity to support their cause. If you’d like to donate, but do not wish to enter the competition, please feel free to do so, there is no limit to donations, and the more people willing to help out in this very worthy cause the better.

To find out how to enter the competition and hear about some of the amazing prizes up for grabs, read our competition brief below.

Competition brief:

Create an original piece of artwork (a drawing, illustration, cartoon or
painting) that relates to mental health awareness, mindfulness or reflects a positive message to yourself and/or others or simply something that makes you happy or feel good. The competition is for ALL abilities, including those who are beginners or have not created a piece of artwork before, it is aimed for all to be included, as inclusiveness is a very important part of our mission at Wreck This Art Collective.

To enter, simply pay the entry fee of a minimum £3 per person by submitting a donation under your name to the JustGiving page set up for our fundraiser. Then once your design is complete, either scan or photograph a (reasonably) Hi-Res picture of your entry, or send a file across to info.wreckthisartcollective@gmail.com or if you are not able to do this
simply drop your entry in to Hector’s Shed, Shoreham-by-sea.

We have two categories that can be entered, our Adult competition for those between 18-100+ and one for ages 13-17 years of age.

About the charity

We work to make sure nobody has to experience thoughts of suicide alone. We fight dangerous stigma that stops people talking about suicide. We teach communities to recognise and support those at risk. We develop new ways for people to get lifesaving support. Together, we can prevent suicide.
