Why I'm doing this walk...
Westminster Befriend a Family has been established for 22 years and uses 150 volunteers to provide weekly help to over 200 disadvantaged families in Westminster each year. It is a small charity with only 3 staff but only a few months of running costs in reserves. They need your help to keep providing this vital assistance and I am trying to raise £1000 for them with a sponsored walk across the country. Please support them.

The 190 Miles Walk
I am walking from St Bees in the Lake District to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire which is 190 miles. This is the 'Coast to Coast' walk devised by a famous writer and walker called Alfred Wainwright who spent a great part of his life walking and recording routes in the Lake District. I am doing this challenging walk with my daughter Frances and we are hoping to complete it in 10 days. I got started last year when I passed a significant birthday and thought I had better do it before I dropped off the twig...
