Story
I am going to cycle along the Kennet and Avon canal from Wootton Rivers (Where my great-great-great-grandad built the church clock) to Caen Locks in Devizes in order to raise money for Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital.
I'll do it on Thursday 2 June.
The Wildlife Hospital rescues animals and helps them, but they are in need of more money to build a new hospital, because they are running out of room for more animals.
From Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital: 'The Wiltshire Wildlife Hospital provides a 24 hour rescue and advice service for the wildlife of Wiltshire and the surrounding counties. Our team of dedicated volunteers rescue, treat, care for and rehabilitate mammals, birds and reptiles in preparation for their release back into the wild.
We need YOUR help to build our new hospital. We have the funds and the planning permission to start work in early 2022 on our bespoke, environmentally friendly, fit for purpose new building. We are looking for businesses and tradespeople who can partner and collaborate with us for the build.
Just think of it as a Wildlife Hospital DIY SOS call out for our wonderful community to get involved in this vital project.
Watch our fundraising video above, featuring our friend, Dame Judi Dench, to get a better idea of why we need our new hospital.
