Chris and Darren are doing a charity cycle ride from John O'Groats to Lands End in April 2011 , to raise funds and awareness for Andover Young Carers. Unfortunalty Ben has had to withdraw due to injury but a excellent replacement has been found in Andrew Gibson .
This ride would normally 7-8 days, but they will be completing the route in 5 days by riding in relay. The total distance is just under 1000 miles.
This is the first long distance cycle ride that Chris and Darren have ever done. Chris is undertaking fitness training with alternative fitness where Darren is an instructor.
The Bikes have been purchased and will be supported by Just Bikes Andover.
The Minibus has had a towbar donated by Andover Towbars , who are also providing a cycle carrier.
The Clothing has been donated by Tony at T G Agencies
All fuel cost have been paid by Stannah.

Andover Young Carers is an independent charity which offers respite and support for children and young people age 8 to 18 years who sadly often have very little or no childhood because of their significant caring responsibilities for a parent, parents or sibling with a long term illness, terminal illness or disability; also children and young people who are affected by their parents drug or alcohol addictions, mental health problems and domestic violence.
As a young carer children and young people have a different life, without or with very little chances of being just children.
