Story
Not everyone can run 5 km, so we have an alternative challenge that is inclusive and fun!
Draw 1 - Nominate 2 - Donate £3
ArtistAnd is supporting women and childing who are stuck in a crisis of their own during Covid-19. With no place of refuge to turn to, and domestic violence tragically increasing in this lockdown period, we want to support women and children in difficult situations so that no one is left vulnerable.
Drawing can create affordable means of therapy and a free form of creative outlet. In this time when we are looking at our own personal situation and thinking of others, we can count our blessings and encourage people to help. This is a time of selfless acts and doing what we can. Using our own reflection we can look at ourselves and others and help by donating as little is £3 to make a difference.
The challenge
Your 20-minute self-portrait encourages you to look within yourself and really understand what it is that makes you you both physically and mentally. Observe your differences, your weaknesses, and most of all, your strengths. Draw yourself using anything you have to hand and focus for just 20 minutes to see what happens. We think drawing is the best way to really notice what we are actually looking at rather than looking at the world blindly.
Once you have completed your drawing, please share it and tag 2 others to complete their own #20minutechallenge. You can tag us on Instagram @ArtistAnd.co.uk Twitter @ArtistAndUKor Facebook ArtistAnd
The charity
One woman in four will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Refuge supports around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence. By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Thank you.
