Story

CONGRATULATIONS AND A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE

Due to unprecedented support the Nottingham Arts Theatre has reached its target of £65,000 in order to stay open for the next season.

This has come about due to extraordinary effort and commitment by the local community supporting our charity events, donating and putting pressure on the media and councillors.

In just a few months we have raised over £26,000 from events and public donations.  We have then also received a grant of £20,000 from Nottingham City Council and £20,000 anonymous donation from a supporter of the Arts.

HOWEVER
It is important that we do not lie back.  In order to secure our future we need a continued programme of fundraising activities so that we do not fall into the same financial difficulties again.

Please continue to support us by attending our shows, helping us promote our theatre and providing donations as you feel able - please see below for details.

We would particular like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us raise our target.

Increasing running costs, building maintenance and government legislation has led to financially instability which will result in closure if we cannot raise enough money to continue.

The Arts Theatre is a vibrant community theatre that has been open since 1948 and run as a registered charity for the past 6 years, supporting the local community.

The theatre is open to everyone with an interest in performing arts to become members, all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.

They provide a supporting environment to learn and be involved in all aspects of theatre including acting, sound, lighting and set design - producing high quality amateur shows.

The youth theatre provides education to children from all over the county, helping them develop self confidence and self esteem.

We also host performances by many outside companies and schools providing an active theatre venue for their own shows.

Over the last year 26,500 people watched a performance at the Nottingham Arts Theatre with an estimated 2800 performers and over 300 have taken part in educational activities.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Nottingham Arts Theatre Limited will receive your money electronically and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Please donate generously and help us to keep the Nottingham Arts Theatre serving
Nottingham 's local community.

Many thanks for your support.
