Shaving my head to support Stroke Association · 17 June 2018

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

A stroke is a serious life-threatening medical condition that occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off. They are the 5th leading cause of death in adults and are extremely scary to not also the person having the stroke but also their families.

Stroke survivors are lucky however there are a lot of problems after stroke. Common physical conditions in days / months after a stroke include:
-Weakness, paralysis, and problems with balance and co-ordination.
-Pain, numbness, or burning and tingling sensations.
-Fatigue
-Speech problems, reading, writing and difficulty expressing feelings
-Inability to work or drive again
-Memory problems; inability to recall names, poor attention span, difficulty solving problems
-Depression, anxiety or emotional outbursts

Stroke Association is a really comprehensive charity in relation to strokes, they invest in stroke research to help improve treatment, they offer support services, help stroke survivors with communication support, emotional support, exercise-based support and will do everything they can to help the rehabilitation of a person after stroke.

“With the right help and support a stroke doesn’t have to to stop you from doing the things you want to do”

So basically I’m doing a little fundraiser to support Stroke Association. Would HUGELY appreciate it if you could help contribute in anyway you can :) Also, if we meet the target I will be shaving off all my hair (not sure if that’s motivation or not but hopefully we meet the target)
THANK YOU!!
