Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
A friend (and colleague) and his wife lost their son soon after he was born earlier this year. Despite the inevitable anguish they must have and continue to experience the couple have praised the care and support the three of them received from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital during their son’s life.
To stand in solidarity with the couple and in support of the NICU Trust at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital 16 members of Arup Transport London and Energy, Water and Resources London are organising and taking part in a 5-day charity cycle around the Arup offices in the “south” of the UK to fundraise for the CW+ charity that supports the NICU, which provides life changing care for babies and families in the local area and wider regions.
Between 18th and 22nd July the 16 riders will be cycling 1 to 5 days of a route between Birmingham, Tewkesbury, Cardiff, Bristol, Winchester and London. Those taking part in all 5 days will be covering 525 km with 3,900 m elevation gain (326 miles with 12,795 feet elevation gain). In total the 16 riders will cover a total of 5,435 km with 39,685 m elevation gain (5,435 miles with 38,685 feet elevation gain) across the 5 days.
Following the ride and in line with the couple’s wishes we'll be able to decide more specifically where any funds that are raised will be directed to help other babies and families in the future and to have the most positive influence.
Arup will be matching anything raised on this page up to £2,000, meaning £5,000 to support the life changing care NICU provides if we achieve our £3,000 target.
Thank you for your support and contribution.
