At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

My mother died after suffering for over ten years with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. It was a terrible thing to see happen to your own parent.

I am undertaking this solo journey, in her memory, to Knivskjelodden, just north of North Cape in Arctic Norway, the most northerly point on the mainland of Europe. We need to raise awareness and money for the ongoing care and research for those suffering from this horrendous disease. Overall the journey is a round trip of about 6500 miles (10500 kms) and culminates in a12 mile walk to Knivskjelodden. I shall be taking photographs and making videos of the trip that will be available on You Tube.

Please give what you can and remember that Alzheimer’s disease does not just attack the elderly, but a number of young people too. Help us find a cure for this dreadful disease.
