Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. If you're here, then I'm sure you know all about me and why I'm doing this
Having begun 2017 by deciding to get in better shape, I decided I wanted a challenge. And 10 years after running the Bristol Half Marathon the first time, why not do it again? Over 13 miles of running through the beautiful city of Bristol, before collapsing and being rushed to A&E - just kidding, hopefully I'll be rushed to McDonalds! :)
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm not built for running, heck even a fast walk is difficult but I want to push myself to raise money for a charity close to my heart - St Peter's Hospice. This charity receives little NHS funding yet is the only Hospice that helps adults in Bristol. Back in 2010 they helped care for my Mum before she died and in 2014, before my Dad died, they were arranging to provide care to him. You will all know how much my parents meant to me, so to know that we had the support of the Hospice was invaluable. I really cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. From caring for terminally ill patients to providing bereavement counselling to the families that are left behind, they really do make a bloody difficult time, that little bit easier
So to borrow a phrase from a well known supermarket chain, every little helps, so please dig deep and help me raise money for St Peter's Hospice.
