Thank you for visiting Asha for Education's (London) fundraising page. The London chapter is happy to announce the selection of "Timbaktu Collective" as the chapter's "Work an Hour" project for 2007.

Work An Hour, or WAH as it is popularly known, is a simple concept. We invite and request you to symbolically contribute one hour (or more) of your working wages towards the education of underprivileged children in India.

The Timbaktu Collective is based in the drought prone district of Anantpur in Andhra Pradesh, South India. Its objective is to make a lasting improvement in the lives of the people of the area. The Collective encourages the practice of permaculture (a sustainable and eco-friendly form of agriculture), organizes women's 'sangams' to deal with problems faced by women and runs an alternative education program for children. The latter is our focus.
