The Marin Coast north of San Francisco occupies a special place in my heart. I've been journeying up to this area for many years now as an accessible and easy escape from city life and to get into open spaces and nature. A short 45 min drive from the city and you're in a different world altogether, experiencing the beauty of mountains and craggy cliffs meeting the sea and coastal lagoons.  

My bike route starts in the iconic surf-town of Stinson Beach, situated beneath the peak of Mt. Tamalpais and the Mt. Tamalpais State Park and watershed region. From Stinson Beach, I cruise out along a popular biking route on the highway around the gorgeous Bolinas Lagoon, a hotspot for birdlife, marine mammals, and fisherman. The ride cruises through the wonderfully small, quirky, and secretive community of Bolinas and takes me up through the hills and expansive properties and seaside residential areas.
