I have worked in a number of Emergency Departments and I want to run this race to hopefully target the money raised to much needed equipment for the ED for both patient and staff. Working in the NHS for me and my colleagues the ED is no easy feat at the moment, and being afforded the opportunity to do this on behalf of Portsmouth Hospitals Charity is a great opportunity, especially if we can benefit the team and department at the same time. 

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity supports the work of Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust to help enhance patient care and support staff welfare.Portsmouth Hospitals Charity funds a range of projects including improvement to existing facilities, the purchase of new and state-of-the-art equipment, staff training and helps foster research and innovation. This would not be possible without kind donations from the local community, legacies, corporate donations and grants.
