Story

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read my story and for donating. Your donation means more than you will ever realise.

A little bit of backdrop to the reason why I am running the Marathon for the Sick Children’s Trust….

On Boxing Day 2015, myself and my daughter were travelling in a vehicle with my daughter’s mum, we were hit by a drink driver who ran a red light and then ran away from the scene of the accident .

As a result of the accident, my daughter was left with life changing injuries and sustained injuries in the accident that put her on life support. Rio was in a coma for 6 weeks In total and spent 3 months in intensive care altogether. During that stay in hospital, Rio had to learn to walk again and sadly still has issues with her leg.

We, as a family,  were very fortunate to able to stay in Eckersley House, a charity house funded by The Sick Childrens trust. When you’re at your lowest point, you’re given a supportive and helping hand. The house is based next to the hospital so you’re not far from your loved ones.

I would appreciate anyone giving any amount they can for this fantastic charity, the difference it makes to families lives cannot really be put into words.

Thank you for your support and again, for taking time to read my story.
