Story
Hello everybody, I’m Ashley Coatsworth.. I’m a 26 year old lad from Lincoln. I would like to raise money and awareness for Mind Charity by completing the The National Three Peaks.
Having seen a lot of young and old people suffer locally and nationally with anxiety and mental health, which has only grown throughout this pandemic, and it has came to my attention that I would like to raise awareness for the charity Mind. I want to make a difference and raise as much money and awareness as we possibly can for mental health.
Evidence is increasing that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the mental health of sections of the population differently, depending on their circumstances. The pandemic seems to have widened mental health inequalities, with the groups that had the poorest mental health pre-crisis also having had the largest deterioration in mental health during lockdown.
Mental Health is something that NEEDS more resource and more awareness. I know how many others are still struggling in silence or don’t know where to turn for the help they need and this is where Mind comes in!
I’ve decided to do this mentally and physically demanding challenge in aid of some people I hold close to my heart who have struggled mentally over the past couple of years. I want to show them people there is a way to overcome, despite how hard things may seem.
It would be absolutely amazing if we could all come together to smash this target, and if you can’t donate, PLEASE share this page with as many people as possible. Even if it means that those people end up finding the charity for the first time, it could really, really help someone.
The work that Mind do is amazing, and to give you an idea of where the money that we'll raise together goes...
🔘 £15 could fund someone experiencing mental health problems to attend a group therapy session
🔘 £7.60 could offer a lifeline to someone in desperate need of support from Mind's Info and Legal Helplines
🔘 £21 could fund an hour of Elefriends, Mind's amazing and vital online community that provides peer support to tens of thousands of people
The event will be starting this weekend Sunday 25th September and a different mountain will be completed every weekend.
