On Saturday 3rd September, The Hurricanes and 29 other teams will descend on Carsington Water to battle it out in the 2011 WaterAid Raft Race.

The whole event is to raise money for WaterAid.

WaterAid is an international charity. WaterAid's vision is a world where everyone has access to safe water and effective sanitation.

Clean water is something most of us take for granted, but over a billion people do not have access to it, and over two fifths of the world's population do not have somewhere safe and clean to go to the toilet. As a result, a child dies every 15 seconds from easily preventable diseases.

Without safe water and toilets nearby, people find it impossible to escape the downward spiral of poverty and disease.

Your donations will go towards helping WaterAid provide clean water!

Just £3.50 can supply a tap in Nigeria and £60.00 can supply a hand pump in Bangladesh. WaterAid has already helped over 11 million people worldwide and with continuing support, they can reach even more.
