Not quite sure how this has happened but some how I’ve signed myself up to take part in a trek across the Arctic Circle. 

In February 2020 I will be doing a unique challenge for the charity, “When you wish upon a Star” where I will be flying to Rovaniemi in Finland & spend three days trekking into the Arctic Circle. Over the three days I’ll cover approximately 70km in subzero temperatures. I’ve been told it can drop to -30/40 so I better pack my hat, scarf and gloves! I’ll be towing my own kit which will be harnessed up to a expedition pulk weighing roughly 16kg-24kg.. 

So the question is why am I doing this?? The money I hope to raise will go to the charity When you wish upon a Star. They are an amazing team who are dedicated to granting the Wishes of children who are living with life threatening illnesses. My personal goal is to raise enough money to enable two families from the Highlands and Islands who meet the criteria and send them on a lifetime trip to Lapland. There they will be able to play in the snow, drink hot chocolate, meet non other than Father Christmas and soak up a bit of that Lapland Magic. 

I need your help!! Please can I ask you all to make any kind of donation to my fundraising page which will help me to grant these wishes. From now until February 2020 I will be holding some fundraising events so keep an eye out and hopefully we can smash my target! 

Oh one more thing - no there won’t be polar bears where I’ll be trekking! Apparently they are roughly 600km away from where we will be. Fingers crossed there right about that!
