I am excited to have been selected to take part in Reckitt Benckiser's Global Challenge 2013 as the food team representative. The RB Global Challenge brings employees together from around the world to take part in a challenge to raise funds for Healthier Kids, Happier World – RB's new commitment to Save the Children.

I will be joining 33 other RB employees to help renovate health clinics in the West Java area of Indonesia. We will be working along side Save the Children and local people as they implement a unique program to improve health, hygiene and hand washing practices aimed at increasing newborn survival in West Java. My team will be focused on undertaking a variety of manual labour tasks, renovating health clinics and helping families and communities to give their children a healthy start in life. We will be traveling to one of the districts in West Java - Bandung - about 75 miles south of Jakarta, with an estimated population of 3.2 million people. The infant mortality rate is 35 infants per 1,000 live births - 1 in every 28 infants is currently dying.

Your generous donations will help 35,000 newborns and 25,000 mothers to survive, and support up to 400,000 community members with improved health and hygiene.

In order to participate in this fantastic opportunity, I have committed to raise a minimum of £4,000 (~$6,500) sponsorship for Save the Children.
