With your help, the Free to Run team has successfully evacuated our staff members most at risk from Afghanistan. We are pursuing options for those who remain behind and support those in transit (accommodation, visa support, legal support etc).

Story

The upcoming plan,#7summitsF2R, is to climb the equivalent ascent, each month starting in October 2021, of the 7 highest peaks on each of the 7 continents. The equivalent of 43,315m of ascent.

Starting in October in reverse order...

Mt. Everest (8,850 m) in Asia
Aconcagua (6,962 m) in South America
Denali (6,190 m) in North America
Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Africa
Mt. Elbrus (5,642 m) in Europe
Puncak Jaya/ Mt. Carstensz (4,884 m) in Oceania
Mt. Vinson (4,892 m) in Antarctica.

The Free to Run team has been through many races, but none like this. The organization is working around the clock on evacuating its Afghan staff and their families to safe locations. They need our support so that they can continue to respond to the rapidly changing circumstances and act quickly - both for the Afghan team and for its broader work supporting female leaders in areas of conflict.
