Many people consider hospice care to be solely for cancer patients. It is so much more. Thanks to the care, compassion and understanding of the whole team at Katharine House, Stafford - Doctors, nurses, administration staff and volunteers - Ashley was spared the trauma of ending his days in hospital. Instead he died peacefully at home, on his own terms. The support that has been offered to the whole family has been second to none: we cannot thank them enough.
