Spear is an award-winning programme run by the London-based charity Resurgo, aimed at getting young people in inner city London ready for the world of work. The young people who they target have often been out of work for some time, have left school with few qualifications, often have difficult backgrounds or circumstances to overcome, and lack confidence and self-esteem. The Spear programme has helped around 4,000 young people into employment or education over the last decade, equipping them with the skills they need to find and secure a job, as well as ongoing support to join the workforce and sustain a career.

We've seen first hand the difference that Spear makes through our corporate volunteering activities with Resurgo - it inspires and motivates participants to take their lives into their own hands and gives them the tools, skills and support to grasp opportunity and make things happen. The mentors and coaches on the course really do go above and beyond for the young people they work with and the impact of their counsel is truly transformative.
