London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

Acorn Enterprises, the trading arm of the Jersey Employment Trust, is here to provide employment, training and development opportunities for people with a disability or long-term health condition.

Story

Acorn Enterprises, which includes Reuse, the plant nursery and the Woodshack, offers meaningful work and training opportunities to people with a disability or long-term health condition. Their most recent venture, Reuse, benefits the environment, and helps low-income families and other charities too. Every penny they make goes back into life-changing opportunities for their clients.

I used to hate running and could think of nothing worse, if you had told me a year ago I would sign up for a marathon I would have thought it was a joke!

Lockdown has been a particularly hard time on us all and for me running has made a drastic change to my mindset and mental health.

I've decided I want to make a positive change and help people after what has been a tricky year. I'm going to put myself through my paces and aim to do a half marathon in November followed by the London marathon in April. I want to raise as much money for this amazing cause as possible so that I can help those who need it the most. I would like to raise £2,600 minimum (that's £100 for every painful mile) and I will do this by asking you lovely people for donations and also though events which I will share later on. Your support will be my main motivator to finishing this marathon!
