We provide free ‘Homes from Home’ to keep families together

Story

As you may be aware our son, Oliver was extremely poorly in the autumn of 2021 with a huge brain infection and required two life saving craniotomy’s.  I am pleased to say he is making steady progress and getting back to his happy self.

He spent nearly 4 weeks in Leeds General Hospital and during this time The Sick Children’s Trust provided us with accommodation opposite the entrance to the hospital and catered for all our needs.  It meant we had immediate access to be with Oli, didn’t have to travel to and from home, and as parents most importantly one of us was with Oli 24/7 during this difficult time.  Amazingly this was available all at no cost.  We are climbing Pen-y-Ghent (Oli as well) to raise money for this great charity to support other families in their time of need. Thank you

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
