Story

The Nick Webber Trust

Ashurst is a longstanding support of The Nick Webber Trust, a charity set-up in memory of former Ashurst lawyer, Nick Webber, who tragically died in a car accident at the age of 28, whilst on qualification leave in Malawi as a volunteer lawyer.

The Nick Webber Trust supports some of Malawi's poorest and most marginalised people by working closely with the local community, understanding their needs and funding and overseeing specific projects. In recent years, The Trust's work has focused on keeping girls in school and female entrepreneurship.

How will your money help?

The Nick Webber Trust is looking to raise £20,000 which will enable the 'Women Lawyers of Malawi' group to provide free legal advice and support to women facing violence and abuse and their children. An important part of this project will involve building a refuge and safe house for women and their children who, due to the circumstances, cannot return home.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
