Asia is going to Asia (to lead a team of volunteers in Bangladesh!)

VSO ICS** · 31 January 2020 to 31 December 2020 ·
I am absolutely excited to let you know that I will be going on a four-month VSO ICS placement to Bangladesh to support and lead a team of amazing young volunteers who will be working together with rural communities on various exciting governance projects!
One of the main project’s focus is to help improve the employability skills, knowledge and competence of young people and engaging youth in strengthening local government services. The team will also work on fairer farming and agriculture projects to develop entrepreneur, employability skills for enhancing employment and income.
We will also work to raise awareness on forced child marriage prevention and sexual and reproductive health and rights. I am particularly excited about working with women and girls as many of you know my great passion for women’s empowerment!
My ICS (International Citizen Service) placement is 90% funded by The UK Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) and all I need to do is to fundraise the rest - £800 to support work of the brilliant VSO who will train and support me before, during and after my placement.
I hope you will be able to contribute and help me in this amazing journey! I really can't wait to go, challenge myself, support my team and make a change.
I can promise good photos and exciting videos (and curry recipe/feast) in return!
I would also like to organise some kind of fundraising/leaving event but it looks like time is just flying too fast :( Instead, I can offer you prints of my of my photographs (you can choose some from here: www.asiabochenek.com) and also Reiki sessions!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
