Story
Hello my name is Sasha and I’m 14 months old. I’m a dwarf German Shepherd, who was found wandering the streets of Cookstown by a member of the public. They took me to the local pound where I was rescued by Assisi Animal Sanctuary.
My front right leg is crooked, and I cannot put pressure on it. You can often see me limping on this foot. My deformed leg was caused by the bones in my growth plates which didn’t form properly. If this was left to continue it would only get worse and soon, without very major surgery, I would not be able to walk or play anymore and the leg would probably have to be amputated.
I will need two procedures a few weeks apart to fix this problem, which will involve cutting and realigning the damaged bones then using special plates to hold the bones in place while they are healing. This should save my leg, allowing me to lead a full and pain free life. These operations will cost around £2,500 – £3,000 in total, and I need your help to raise these much needed funds.
Thank-you.
Sasha
