Thank you for visiting our WaterAid fundraising page.
In late January 2006 Tim Bradbury and myself, Mike Norman will row non stop the 3000 miles or so from La Gomera in the Canaries to Antigua in the Carribbean. Start state weather permitting will be 25 January 2006.
Our journey will be unsupported and we will be carrying enough ships biscuits, fruit cake, porridge and grog for 100 days. Water for our cocktails at sundown and showering! will be made by our solar charged battery powered onboard desalination plan.
Our 24 foot rowing boat called Fraser's Boat was lovingly made four years ago out of a marine ply flatpack. It's solidly built for the job and will (we are told) self right when, sorry if, it should ever capsize. On our journey we will be carrying a tracking beacon therefore you will be able to follow our progress every day by logging on to http://oceanrowing.com/ One thing is guaranteed is that we will have one big adventure made even better if you could kindly donate to the WaterAid cause. £5 will sponsor us for one mile so give what you can.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Many thanks for your support.
