Audrey James past away with her family around her after a short battle with cancer on 13 October 2013.

Throughout Audrey's life she was a devoted wife, mother, nan, and great-grandmother, as well as a loving sister and aunt.

Children, both in her own family, as well as others were close to her heart. she was an inspiration to many, and touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of meeting her.

One of her nieces gives many, many hours to this wonderful charity, which Audrey always admired. With her love of children in mind, we have decided to set up this page in Audrey's memory.

Destination Florida is a small charity which specialises in bringing a bit of sunshine into the lives of children who are suffering from life threatening illnesses.

 Every 2 years Destination Florida takes a group of about 75 children to Florida, literally for the holiday of a lifetime. Each trip is meticulously planned and involves taking a large support team consisting of doctors, nurses and other carers.

Whilst in Florida the parents and siblings of the children will hopefully be enjoying a week’s respite at home. The benefit of this can never be underestimated.
