Last year, food banks in our network provided more than 1.6 million emergency food parcels to people in crisis. More than half a million of these went to children. It’s not right that people can’t afford the basics. With your help, we can help end the need for food banks.As a nation, we expect no one should be left hungry or destitute. As with many things at this time, AUWHC and AUMHC’s annual
tour has been cancelled! This year a group of us were going to Benidorm for our
tour – as this is no longer happening we have decided to still ‘travel’ all that
way!
We are going to run, walk or cycle the 1,292 miles from
Aberystwyth to Benidorm in order to raise money for the TRUSSELL TRUST during
this unprecedented time. This is a food bank charity aimed at families were the
children are entitled to free school meals and as these children are likely to
be off school for up to 6 months, we believe that this is a good charity to
raise for as these families will need help in this unprecedented time.
We will be tracking these miles from everyone on the club Strava
account NAME, so when you run, walk or cycle please tag the club Strava into
this! There is no minimum or maximum number of miles to contribute so please
get involved as much as you can or want. Get your family and friends involved!
We are aiming to complete this
journey in 20+1 days, aim to be in Benidorm by the 11th May! We will
be donating as we go along.
