Story

Hi im Jody, some of you may know me as Auto Lass.

I have been in the motor trade since 1997.

I started off working on cars, plant & machinery & carrying out inspections on HGV’s.

I had a short break in 2012 but couldn’t settle, so got back into the motor trade as a freelance MOT tester, working at two MOT stations.

A unit became available on the industrial estate where I was testing & I jumped at the chance.

We opened MNJ Autocare in the summer of 2019. Covid hit in 2020 but this didn’t stop us from growing the business at lightning speed.

In April 2022, I opened my second workshop MNJ Classics, situated behind my daily workshop with an idea of how i could promote classic cars & help people in the process.

I have a passion for classic cars & have a dream to save them - keeping them alive & on the road.

I have a YouTube channel ‘Auto Lass’ where we document what we are doing. “Some of my followers got in touch to say they had to sell their classic cars during Covid” or “they always wanted a classic car but felt it was out of their reach”.

So I had an idea that I would recommission affordable starter classics, document this on my channel to promote sustainable skills (as I am an ambassador for the Association of Heritage Engineers), try to encourage people to work on their own classic cars at home to help save them & also offering giveaway prizes that are suitable tools to use from home, all whilst making the content fun but informative to encourage people & hopefully the younger generation to have a go.

When the recommissioned car is done, me & my wonderful team raffle the car for charity.

This gives people the chance to win a classic car for the price of a raffle ticket whilst raising funds for the chosen charity.

This year I have chosen Help For Heroes as my charity & the car you can win is a 1975 MG Midget known as MG Marshall.

The car has been donated by one of my subscribers & we plan to rebuild the MG as a one off - in a military theme with a nod to our late queen.

The draw is planned / scheduled for 11/11/2023.

Raffle tickets are £10 each & will be availble through my social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter, Instgram & LinkedIn. Please note that this Just Giving page is for donations only. Tickets are only available through my social media pages as stated above.

You can follow the journey with the charity car rebuild on my Youtube channel. ‘Auto Lass’

We plan to have a Veterans Day at my workshop, hoping some veterans may even want to get stuck in & give a little tlc to MG Marshall. We are extremely proud & honoured to be working closely with the H4H team who have made me a community partner, Charity of the year.

Please donate to this wonderful cause & help support our journey.

Big love to you all
