Story
Many of us have lost loved ones to the curse that is cancer. Over the past few years I have lost several precious friends, but this year has been especially hard losing two girlfriends, my beautiful friend and neighbour Silvana, and my long term friend from South Africa, Blanche. Just 2 years earlier Silvana lost her brother Stefano to cancer. I run to de-stress and have used it to deal with grief, especially this year. No one stops you when you are running like a "wild woman" and crying!! From the races in the photos on this page, I've raised over $35,000 for cancer charities, including The Cancer Research Foundation and Camp Quality. This year I want to set a BIG target, $20,000, and need everyone's help!
I will be running the Venice Marathon in Italy on 26 October 2013 - I think I am crazy, as do my family and team mates at work - in memory of Silvana, Blanche and Stefano, and will be wearing their names on my shirt. If you want to help find a cure for cancer, and/or have lost someone to cancer, then PLEASE SPONSOR ME! I WILL RUN, and all you need to do is DONATE GENEROUSLY! The run will be much harder than coming to this page and donating.
